Limuzīns Jāņu nakts krāsā (A Limousine The Colour Of Midsummer's Eve) is a 1981 Latvian TV-film, a comedy directed by Jānis
Streičs. It was produced by Rīgas Kino-studio
The
film was awarded in the Latvian National Film Prize festival called
„Lielais Kristaps” in 1981. The film is part of Latvian Cultural Canon and
voted all-time best Latvian film in popular vote. It is shown every year on TV
prior to summer solstice festival - Jāņi, which is national holiday
in Latvia.
Vārnu ielas
republika "Crow Street republic" is 1970 . the Latvian SSR
children's adventure film. The director is Ada Neretniece . The film shot in
Riga Film Studio after the eponymous John Grīziņš story themes.The film
takes place in Riga suburb Grizinkalns , one of the workers' districts, immediately
after the 1905th Revolution . Crow's street children whose fathers work in
nearby factories and factories stood against "Tuliāna Empire" - a
group of boy, child traffickers from neighbouring rural street.
Mother, I Love You (Mammu, es tevi mīlu) is a 2013 Latvian drama film written and directed by Jānis
Nords. The film was selected as the Latvian
entry for the Best Foreign Language Film
at the 86th Academy Awards, but it
was not nominated
“Mother, I love
you” tells a dynamic relationship thriller- story about 13 years old Riga’s
student named Raimonds and his mother. When one obviously insignificant remark
at school is being got this is a point when the most adventurous week of
Raimond’s life starts. He leaves his home, involves in a doubtful affair with a
prostitute and at the end solves the conflict with his mother, as well as with
his best friend.
Dream Team 1935 (Sapņu
komanda 1935) is a Latvian film directed by Aigars
Grauba about the Latvia’s national basketball team which won Euro Basket 1935, the first FIBA European basketball championship.
The first European
Championship in basketball is about to take place in Geneva.
The event is
organized by FIBA, the newly
established international basketball organization and European national teams
are going to play each other for the first time. Each wants the honour of being
the first European champion.
